What is AldE.com
AldE.com is a little domain run by Aldebaran for his own web design, domain hosting,
and static IP for his home machine.
What does AldE mean anyways?
Alde is an evolution of some sort. When choosing a nickname, I was currently enrolled in an astronomy course taught at a local
community college. I then had an account on GEnie (Since absorbed by AOL). I learned that we could pick custome mailbox names and
decided to pice my name as a star. Well, choosing a star name seemed difficult. There are the completely obvious (Betlegeuse, Procyon,
Sol), and the innane (Sirius, Duhbe), and the rest that didn't really sound masculine. So I narrowed it down to Fomalhaut and
Aldebaran. Well, Fomalhaut has some pretty mean pagan meanings with it, so I chose Aldebaran. Plus, it's easier to explain to Northern
Hemispherians (Taurus Vs. Pisces Australicus, they've never seen Piscese Australicus.)
I had the nickname from about 1993, and it was ok on BBS's and the like, howevern once I got into college and on MUDS and IRC, Aldebaran
began to show it's difficulty. People could never spell it correctly (aldabaran, aldebaren, et. al) so I shortened it to Alde.
Why the capital E?
